The "G" stood for then Portfolio editor Orlin Grabbe, who supplied many of the jokes.   The character Waistline Wendy the weight-watcher by final strip artist: Richard Scott Houghton, Jr. (AKA Richard Scott).

    Original Strip concept and its original characters: A.C.... the "balanced" Ambassador senior, Phil Ocifer the pseudo-intellectual sophomore preacher, Groggy the late sleeper, Joe Seefus the student historian, and Rash-Dash Rhoda the overfed co-ed created by strip originator and then Ambassador College (Pasadena) student: Monte Wolverton (son of cartoonist and MAD Magazine artist Basil Wolverton).
